We are proud to welcome Ryan Palmer as the Director of the St. Louis Park Community Band! Ryan stepped into this role in April 2025, bringing with him nearly two decades of experience in music education and ensemble leadership.
Ryan currently serves as the band teacher at Coon Rapids High School. His background includes directing a wide range of ensembles, including pit orchestra, jazz band, and marching band, showcasing his talent for collaborative music-making.
Ryan studied conducting at the University of Minnesota, where he trained under esteemed mentors Jerry Luckhardt and Craig Kirchhoff. His academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to musical excellence and education.
In addition to conducting, Ryan enjoys composing and arranging for both concert band and marching band, bringing creativity and fresh energy to every performance.
With Ryan at the podium, the St. Louis Park Community Band continues to grow in artistry, community engagement, and musical joy. We’re thrilled to have him leading the way!
